A slab that cracks has rarely been poured badly: it has been poured on a poor base. We start with the ground, the depth and the drainage, then reinforce and pour.

Good to know
On clay soil, which shrinks and swells with the seasons, the depth of the footings matters more than the thickness of the slab. If we have a doubt, we tell you before quoting and advise a soil survey rather than guessing.
A slab needs about four weeks to reach its strength: we plan the next trades accordingly.
